Doch es entbrennt ein verheerender Machtkampf um den Thron: Während Rhaenyra um ihren Sohn Luke trauert, festigt Jace die Bündnisse für seine Mutter, insbesondere im Norden. In Königsmund befürchtet Alicent, dass der enge Kreis um Aegon ihn dazu ermutigen könnte, einen totalen Krieg gegen seine Tante zu führen ...
